We start The Sponsorship Academy right at the beginning! You will learn how to identify sponsorship properties, how and when to combine them and how to find the highest value properties to focus on based on your goals.
Your inventory of assets determines how much money you will be able to bring in. Once you’ve identified your properties you will learn to build out the biggest inventory of assets possible. From logo placement to complex activations, you will study the entire inventory development process.
Understanding Your Audience
Audience data is by far THE most important element of sponsorship sales (next to valuation, of course), yet it remains the most neglected area by properties. Who is your audience? What do they want from sponsors? Which sponsors want to get in front of them? We go deep into audience data collection, why it’s so important and how to use it to bring in more sponsorship dollars.
You inventory and your audience point you directly to your prospects. Once you have the right data about your audience, not only will you know which companies to approach but you will find something fascinating happens…they will take your call!
Getting the Meeting
You will learn battle tested tricks to get prospects to take your call. You will learn how to run a successful sales meeting and what to say to prospects to get them to tell you exactly what they are looking for.
Every property has its own unique value based on audience, geography, type of assets and how well they build activations for their sponsors. You will learn how to perform a valuation and how to negotiate with sponsors to get them to sign on the dotted line.
The Sponsorship Proposal
What exactly do you need to add to a sponsorship package to get sponsors to read it? Here’s a hint: it’s a lot more complicated than you think. You will what to include in your sponsorship deck, when to use it and how to get sponsors to tell you what to include.
Activation and Fulfillment
Gone are the days of logo placement being enough to land a sponsor. Sponsorship activation requires you to build more complex opportunities for your sponsors and those same sponsors will expect you to deliver, track and report on sponsorship outcomes (fulfillment). You will learn how to use audience data, sponsor goals and your own goals to build activation ideas that add value to all three parties (you, your audience and your sponsor). You will also learn how to measure your sponsor’s objectives and use fulfillment reporting to close next year’s deal.
